about

''Touch The Sky'' is a piece that is inspired by the Lord of the Rings films. Since day 1 of composing fantasy, I always wanted to make a piece that sounded royal, kingly and majestic, something fit for a kingdom. Using solo french horn and utilizing perfect fourths and fifths, I tried to build a soundscape that makes you imagine big glorious mountains, castles, steep cliffs. I believe our association of hearing perfect fourths and fifths with something kingly/majestic comes from the natural scale of medieval trumpets, that were used as fanfare/signal instruments back then (for example the neverlur from scandinavia).

At the end of the track, the flute goes up an octave and the whole orchestra comes together to do the theme justice.
